Desktop League of Legends highlight studio — watch live games, record with OBS, cut montages, and publish clips to TikTok and YouTube.
Active development: 2025 – present
Idea
I wanted a single local pipeline from a live League of Legends game to finished highlight clips — without manually scrubbing VODs every night. Lecper (the product name for the league-auto-cut desktop app) watches the local game API, records through OBS, cuts combat highlights with ffmpeg, scores clips, and can publish to TikTok and YouTube after you authorize those platforms on your machine.
Implementation
Built as a Node.js / TypeScript desktop workflow: a game tracker talks to the League client and OBS WebSocket, persists cut jobs, and a generation worker encodes montages and optional vertical crops. Publishing is opt-in. TikTok uses Login Kit (desktop redirect to localhost) plus the Content Posting API with scopes user.info.basic and video.publish; tokens stay on disk. YouTube uses Google OAuth the same way. The public product site lives at lecper.janmatl.com with Terms and Privacy for TikTok app review. The hard parts are reliable combat-window detection, keeping encode jobs restart-safe, vertical framing that stays on the action, and staying inside each platform’s upload and privacy rules (including TikTok’s unaudited SELF_ONLY limits until the app is audited).
